Indianapolis crime: Woman dies days after she was shot

View Comments A woman who was shot on the west side of Indianapolis earlier this month died from her injuries Monday, police said.  Officers found the woman on July 9 with a gunshot wound and “trauma” in the 1100 block of Medford Avenue while responding to a report of a person shot. Medics took her to the hospital in critical condition.   The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the woman died Monday.  Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, police said. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s name and age once her family has been notified.   Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call IMPD’s Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
