Indianapolis crime: Two people shot in Lafayette Square Mall incident

View Comments Two people are in critical condition following a shooting at around 5 p.m. Sunday at Lafayette Square Mall just two days after a shooting at Castleton Square Mall. One suspect in the Lafayette Square shooting was arrested after a short pursuit in a car and then on foot. Officer Genae Cook of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said an officer detained the suspect without incident after the person fled from a car on foot near the intersection of 46th Street and Moller Road. The driver of the car the suspect fled from continued driving and it is unknown if the car has been found.

Jul 5, 2021 / 08:40 AM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) One person died and another was injured after a Sunday night shooting at apartments east of downtown Indianapolis. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 10:40 p.m. to the 700 block of East Georgia Street, an address at the Vue Luxury Apartments between College Avenue and Interstate 70, on a report of a person shot. They arrived to find two people shot. One person was initially in critical condition but later pronounced dead. The second person was stable, according to IMPD. No additional information about the identities of the victims or the circumstances of the shooting was immediately available.
