Public health to host virtual town hall

Chaffee County Public Health along with several community stakeholders and subject matter experts will host a virtual town hall to provide updates and address concerns about current trends of COVID-19 at noon Friday, on Facebook Live and Zoom.Â Public health will be joined by representatives from Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Chaffee County Board of County Commissioners, Chaffee County Emergency Medical Services, Solvista Health and the Buena Vista and Salida school districts. Topics will include the latest with the COVID-19 vaccine and distribution plans, the state and countyâs dashboards, the countyâs overall healthcare system, mental health issues, economic support resources and the Chaffeeâs Got HEART campaign.

HRRMC gives vaccine delivery update

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center plans to begin vaccinating frontline and health care workers immediately upon the anticipated receipt of the first round of a limited allocation of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, Allison Gergley, marketing and public relations manager for the hospital stated in a press release. Timing is dependent on pending vaccine delivery confirmation from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, she said. The state public health departmentâs vaccine distribution plan is separated into three main phases, with phase 1 divided into phase 1A and phase 1B. Phase 1A includes highest-risk health care workers, the tier of Coloradans to receive the vaccine first.
