A retrospective analysis of 6,439 hospitalized COVID-19 patients found that 0.6% had new HF and 6.6% had a history of HF, reported Anuradha Lala, MD, of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, and colleagues. As shown in their research letter online in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, out of the 37 people who experienced new HF, 13 had presented with shock (four cardiogenic, six septic, three mixed) and five with acute coronary syndrome.
