UN-Habitat expands its response to urban internal displacement as the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre releases its latest Report Format © UN-Habitat Nairobi, 22 May 2021 - The launch of the Global Report on Internal Displacement 2021 by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) underlines the scale of internal displacement situations, with 55 million people being internally displaced worldwide. The majority of those displaced seek refuge in urban centres. UN-Habitat has been working with partners on internal urban displacement in Iraq, Somalia, Ethiopia, Mozambique and, since last year in Burkina Faso. The report highlights some of these as being among the world s fastest growing displacement crises.

Since then, it has implemented several educational, protection and livelihood interventions in the most deprived areas of the country and in the Palestinian refugee camps.

Photo courtesy of the organiser HCM CITY The Consulate General of Italy in HCM City yesterday (May 20) launched two photographic exhibitions on the landscapes of Italy and Việt Nam at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum. The first exhibition “Italian Routes - Mountains, Mountaineering, Climate Change” was launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It features works by photographer Fabiano Ventura. The work will head to COP26 co-chaired by the UK and Italy at the end of 2021 in Glasgow, and will be promoted by Italian embassies and consulates around the world.
