FIFA and UEFA have both condemned the proposed formation of a European Super League.
On Sunday, 12 of the continent s largest football clubs released a joint statement confirming that they had agreed to become founding members of the newly-formed European Super League competition.
European football s governing body, UEFA, have since released an official statement in response to the announcement, in which they have threatened to consider all measures available to prevent the formation of the controversial breakaway tournament. UEFA, the English Football Association and the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga, and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A have learned that a few English, Spanish and Italian clubs may be planning to announce their creation of a closed, so-called Super League, the statement reads.

AIPS Media journalist Chris Williams has claimed: “Speaking to people in UEFA this morning there is a genuine want for the 12 to be immediately dismissed from all UEFA club competitions – and for Real, Barcelona, AC Milan and Liverpool to be stripped of their badges of honour.
“Suffice to say there are a lot of angry people there.”
