Samuel J. White, 61, of Fairview Township, York County, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born Oct. 6, 1959, in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Walter âRossâ and Sara âJeanâ (Wetzel) White. In 1997, Sam received the Gift of Life through a heart transplant and enjoyed an additional 24 years with his family and friends.
A 1978 graduate of Gettysburg High School, he also earned an associate degree in specialized technology in 1988 from the Hiram Andrew Center in Johnstown. Sam honorably served in the United States Army and had later been employed as a draftsman by McCormick Taylor, Harrisburg, until his retirement. Since his retirement, he was working as a security guard for Securitas Security Services USA.
James Richard ‘Dick’ Storey Sr.
WILLIAMSBURG James Richard “Dick” Storey Sr., 93, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021. He was born July 2, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to James Robert and Mildred Ethel (Strawbridge) Storey.
The second of two children, he grew up spending summers at a family cottage in Dauphin, Pennsylvania, on the Susquehanna River, where he learned to love swimming, rowing and outdoor life.
He was a precocious student. He skipped a grade and graduated early from John Harris High School to start college at Penn State before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He never saw combat duty, but liked to say that when he finished Basic Training, the Germans became alarmed and surrendered, and when he finished Specialist Training three months later, the Japanese became alarmed and surrendered.

We knew the coronavirus pandemic would make holiday travel difficult and impact the seasonal tradition of loved ones visiting the graves of Veterans.
So, when VA’s Veterans Experience Office and National Cemetery Administration proposed the idea of having RallyPoint members pay tribute to make the trip to nearby gravesites of fellow Veterans instead, we thought this could help make a true difference in a few dozen Veteran family members’ lives.
Then it caught on like wildfire. From Nashville to the Netherlands and points in between, the RallyPoint community’s response to this call to action has been overwhelming – and inspiring.

Grace Marie Letterman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Mechanicsburg. Born July 10, 1938 in Limestone Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Keller) Eiswert.
Grace grew up in the farming community of Lycoming County until the time she graduated from Jersey Shore Area Joint High School. As a Navy wife, Grace and the family lived in several locations across the United States and Cuba before settling into their permanent home in Mechanicsburg. Grace was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill since 1978.
