Maharashtra: Raped minor girl found abandoned in gunny bag in Vasai, 1 arrested
Palghar: A four-year-old girl has been found unconscious in a gunny bag at Vasai in Maharashtra s Palghar district, a police official said on Monday.
After the girl was found on Sunday evening, the police took her for a medical examination which revealed she was sexually assaulted, Valiv police station s inspector Vilas Chowgule said.
One person has been arrested in this connection, another police official said. Some locals spotted the gunny bag in Fatherwadi locality of Vasai on Sunday and alerted the police.
The Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar police rushed to the spot and found the girl lying unconscious inside the bag, Chowgule said. A medical examination of the child was conducted and doctors confirmed she was sexually assaulted, he said.
Thane: College teacher held for abetting student s suicide in Diva
A 39-year-old college teacher has been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a student in Maharashtra s Thane district, police said on Wednesday.
As per a police complaint filed by father of the 17- year-old victim, the accused, who was teaching at a college in Dombivli township here, had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from the victim.
He had also allegedly threatened the victim that if the money was not paid, he would see to it that he fails in his exams, an official from Mumbra police station said.
The victim, who was under mental stress, allegedly hanged himself at his house in Diva area here on February 14 this year, he said.

An international woman player of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh has accused her uncle Mohammad Zaki and four other people of sexual harassment and pleaded for justice with the police.
Making serious allegation against her relative Mohammad Zaki and Samajwadi Party leader and former village head Intezar Tyagi and her brother Rizwan Tyagi the woman said that she had gone to Intezar s house to seek some help but was raped after she was threatened to be killed by a gun.

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in a village under the Budhana police circle. The minor had gone missing for some hours, after which her family started searching for her.
She was found unconscious and bleeding on the roof of a nearby house, late on Friday night.
