Thane: Body of missing man found in Kasara Ghat, cops suspect murder
The decomposed body of a 23-year-old man has been found at Kasara Ghat in Thane district, police said on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Satish Aghwe, went missing from his house in Kasara town two days back.
On Saturday, an unidentified person called his family and alerted about the body lying in the ghat section.
The family members along with police rushed to the spot and identified the body, which had stab wounds, Kasara police station s inspector Dattu Bhoye said, adding they suspect it to be a case of murder.

Police have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping and raping a three-year-old girl in Maharashtra s Palghar district, an official said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Saturday when the 38-year-old accused barged into the victim s hut at a village in Talasari taluka while she was sleeping with her mother.
The accused allegedly kidnapped the child and took her to a nearby field where he raped her. He then abandoned the girl at the spot and fled, Talasari police station s inspector Ajay Vasave said.

Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act invoked against 7 chain-snatchers in Nagpur

Nagpur police have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against seven alleged members of an inter-state gang of chain- snatchers, officials said.
The gang was involved in 26 criminal cases in places like Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolhapur, Chandrapur and Dhule in Maharashtra and in Delhi, the Nagpur police said in a release on Monday.
On September 9,two men on a motorcycle allegedly snatched a gold chain of a 60-year-old woman in Lalganj area here, the police said.
The Shanti Nagar police had then registered a case under Indian Penal Code Sections 392 (robbery) and 34 (common intention).
