The United Nations has confirmed that a vehicle of the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) was hit by an “unidentified object” near Rawalakot and that it was investigating the matter.

Haq said that the the incident occurred when UNMOGIP observers were conducting routine monitoring activities near Rawalakot.

The Indian Army on Friday resorted to unprovoked aggression at the Line of Control (LoC) by targeting a United Nations Military Observers (UNMOs) vehicle, said the ISPR.
According to the ISPR, two military observers were on-board the vehicle which was damaged in the attack. Both observers were rescued and safely evacuated to Rawalakot.

In a brazen violation of ceasefire violation on Friday, the Indian Army deliberately targeted a United Nations vehicle in Chirikot Sector along the Line of Control, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The vehicle, according to ISPR, had two Military Observers on board, who were enroute to interact with ceasefire violation victims in Chirikot s Polas Village.
The ISPR said that it is important to bear in mind that UN vehicles are clearly identifiable from a distance due to their distinct make, type and clearly visible markings.
