Google has honoured India s Satellite Man Professor Udupi Ramachandra Rao on his 89th birth anniversary with a doodle. He became the first Indian inducted into the Satellite Hall of Fame in 2013. Udupi Ramachandra Rao 
Google is celebrating the 89th birth anniversary of Indian professor and scientist Udupi Ramachandra Rao with a doodle. Rao who is remembered as India s Satellite Man was an Indian space scientist and chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Professor Rao was born in a remote village of Karnataka on March 10 in 1932. He began his career as a cosmic-ray physicist and protégé of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, a scientist widely regarded as the father of India’s space program. Rao worked as a professor in the US and conducted experiments on NASA’s Pioneer and Explorer space probes after completing his doctorate.

Remembered by many as India s Satellite Man, Professor Rao died in July 2017. He was an Indian space scientist and chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro).
NSIL launched its first dedicated commercial mission on February 28, orbiting Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 from Sriharikota spaceport of the ISRO. Apart from launch services, NSIL is also actively pursuing the new policy change to provide space-based services on demand driven basis , a shift from the current supply driven model.
ISRO s commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) has bagged four more dedicated launch service contracts even as it plans to pursue satellite building deals. NSIL launched its first dedicated commercial mission on February 28, orbiting Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 from Sriharikota spaceport of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). We currently have four more dedicated launch service contracts, which will be executed in the coming two to three years, NSIL s Chairman and Managing Director G Narayanan told PTI in an interview. Apart from launchservices, NSIL is also actively pursuing the new policy change toprovide space-based services on demand driven basis , a shift from thecurrent supply driven model, he said.
