India, Tajikistan Soldiers Trade Blows At Indian Military Academy; Enquiry Ordered

Indian and Tajikistan Gentlemen Cadets (GCs) undergoing training at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun allegedly clashed multiple times in February and March this year, The Indian Express reported on June 9.
The incident has come as a huge embarrassment for the two countries, which maintain close defense ties and conduct joint military exercises.
The Indian Army has now ordered disciplinary action against four Indian and six Tajik Cadets and issued show-causes. A battalion commander of the rank of Colonel is among the staff members who will face disciplinary action.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kevadia today, to address the closing ceremony of the National Director-General (DG) conference on national security, being held at the Statue of Unity Tent city from March 3 to 6. Prime Minister is scheduled to reach Kevadia from Ahmedabad at 8.50 am by Air Force helicopter.
The PM will review the operational situation on the China and Pakistan fronts as well as the progress towards setting up tri-Service integrated commands and structures during the CCC, which is being held with all top commanders of the Army, Navy, and IAF at Kevadia in Gujarat from March 4 to 6.

New Delhi, Mar 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Combined Commanders Conference today in Kevadia, Gujarat.
According to the official sources, jawans and junior commissioned officers also participated in the conference for the first time. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the military commanders, and a team of secretary-level officers from the Ministry of Defense have joined the deliberations from Friday.
The valedictory session on the third and final day today will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is also participating in the valedictory session. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General M M Naravane, Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria, and Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh are also attending the conference.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a conference of the county s top military leadership in Gujarat s Kevadia on Saturday, which will also see the participation of jawans and junior commissioned officers (JCOs) for the first time, according to an official statement on Thursday. The Combined Commanders Conference, a premier brainstorming event of the military officials, is taking place after three years in Kevadia from Thursday to Saturday, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) said in a statement.
It said that in a major departure from the past, the scope of this year s conference has been expanded to make it a multi-layered, interactive, informal and informed event with the added participation of about 30 officers and soldiers of various ranks from the three services.
