India s Maritime investment summit starting on Tuesday (March 2) will see investment announcements worth Rs 3 lakh crore, with 400 MoUs being signed. The summit, from March 2 to March 4 will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India is moving very fast in maritime sector from Port development to port-led industrialization, ship-building, cruise tourism, ship breaking. All these sector has seen world taking note of India. The world community has taken a keen interest in the maritime sector development of India. Shipping companies and major and minor ports in the country will ink 486 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for investments worth Rs 3,38,561 crore on the sidelines of the ongoing Indian Maritime Summit. The three-day summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.A total of 22 entities, including government shipping companies and ports will sign MoUs with gobal investors during the summit, according to an official close to the development.
