Qureshi discusses wide range of political & socio-economic issues with President UNGA Volkan Bozkir - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Volkan Bozkir met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Thursday. The interaction included a tête-à-tête followed by delegation-level talks and a Joint Press Stakeout. The foreign minister also hosted a lunch in the honor of the visiting dignitary which was attended by ministers and members of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Shah Mahmood Qureshi discussed a wide range of political and socio-economic issues on the UN agenda with the president UNGA including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, the situation in Palestine, the Afghan peace process, reform of the UN Security Council, equitable access to COVID-19 Vaccines, and Financing for Sustainable Development.

Islamabad says that the Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) had ushered in a new phase in the partnership by providing a solid foundation and framework for multidimensional cooperation between the two sides.
