Stocks struggled in the week, with Covid scares and reshuffling of economic team stealing the thunder of dollar inflows and may not go far from home, dealers said.
The KSE-100 shares index shed 2.68 percent or 1,220.68 points to close the week at 445,300.95 points.
An analyst at Arif Habib Limited said changes in the cabinet including the Finance Ministry, announcement by ECC and subsequent rejection of the decision by the cabinet to resume trade with India, and the ongoing third wave of Covid-19 all contributed to the pessimism in the market.
âFailure to meet the deadline for the first tranche payment to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) further added to the overall pessimismâ.

MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan will never shy away from dialogue with India but the neighbouring country will have to create a conducive environment for it by restoring the August-5, 2019 status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2021 ) :Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi on Sunday said the South Punjab Secretariat was set up as per Prime MinisterImran Khan s vision of the creation of a new province and no one could withdraw its powers.
No matter whether the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf remained in power or not, the South Punjab Secretariat would continue functioning as it was not an issue of any individual rather that of the whole population of area, he told a press conference.
Qureshi said he would be the first to counter any attempts to hamper the functioning of South Punjab Secretariat. All the members of national and provincial assemblies, ministers and Chief MinisterSardar Usman Buzdar would protect the Secretariat, he added.

MULTAN (Dunya News) - Foreign Minster Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the world to take notice of the Indian atrocities being committed in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
Addressing a press conference in Multan, he said the situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has deteriorated extremely due to severe human rights violations by Indian occupying forces.
The Foreign Minister said India s illegal step to abrogate the special status of the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has produced distress and uncertainty in the region.
