Speaking on behalf of WorldMuslimCongress (WMC) renowned Kashmiri rights activist Altaf Hussain Wani stated The UNSC resolutions and the promises made by India on the right to self-determination of people of disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir is a challenge to the international community and democratic systems.

A US-based think tank Freedom House, in its Freedom in the World 2021 report “Democracy under Siege”, has downgraded India’s status as a democracy from free to “partly free”. It asserted that prime minister Narendra Modi and his ruling Bharatiya Jatana Party (BJP) were “tragically driving India towards authoritarianism.” The think tank in its report said that from a maximum score of 100 marking the “most free” country, India’s score declined from 71 to 67.
The report categorically stated that civil rights had deteriorated in India since Narendra Modi became the prime minister in 2014, and that overall ,the decline accelerated after Modi won a landslide second election victory in 2019. There has been an “increased pressure on human rights organisations, rising intimidation of academics and journalists, and a spate of bigoted attacks, including lynchings, aimed at Muslims” in India

ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Chairperson Peace and Culture Organisation, has said that on one hand women are celebrating International Women’s Day worldwide demanding gender equality while on the other, women in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are battling for protecting their honour from the inhuman occupation forces.
Speaking at a seminar on International Women’s Day here on Wednesday, she said that the entire world is talking about women rights, but alas, the international community and human right organizations observed criminal silence over the miseries and victimization of Kashmiri women by Indian troops, which continue unabated in the occupied valley.
Pakistan once again calls upon India to rescind all illegal actions in IIOJK

Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri has rejected the reports that Pakistan is importing COVID-19 vaccine from India.
Responding to a question at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad this afternoon (Thursday), he said Pakistan has not entered into any bilateral procurement agreement for COVID-19 vaccine from India. He said the international vaccine alliance - Gavi has offered to provide vaccine dozes to several countries, including Pakistan under its COVAX Facility. He said procurement and supply mechanism of the vaccine dozes is undertaken by the Gavi and not by the recipient countries.
