Pakistan has to take stricter actions against the terrorists in order to curb the menace of terrorism from its roots. UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has stepped up its efforts to save Aasiya Andrabi, the detained Kashmiri human rights defender facing a controversial trial in India from the possibility of summary execution, with a call on two senior UN officials to push New Delhi to drop all “trumped up” charges against her.
Ambassador Munir Akram made that urgent call in identical letters sent to Pramila Patten, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, and Phumzile Gloria Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women, the world body’s entity for gender equality.

WASHINGTON: Pakistan urged UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday to prevent the “judicial murder” of a Kashmiri leader and human rights activist and to persuade India to drop all “fabricated charges” against her.
Aasiya Andrabi, who risks conviction by a sham court on Jan 18, is the founder of a Kashmiri rights group called the Dukhtaran-i-Millat, or Daughters of the Nation.
In a letter addressed to Mr Guterres, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Munir Akram said the world must stop giving a “free pass” to India over its “systemic crackdown on the legitimate and indigenous freedom movement in Kashmir”.
