The Central government had advised all States and Union Territories (UTs) to conduct seroprevalence surveys in consultation with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to generate district-level data between July 6 and July 14.
The statement released by the Central government said, The Union Health Ministry has referred to the findings of the 4th round of National Sero-Prevalence Survey done by ICMR and has advised the States to conduct the seroprevalence studies in their own States/UTs in consultation with ICMR so that such studies follow a standardized protocol, and the findings of such studies can then be utilized quickly by the respective State/UT to guide objective, transparent and evidence-based public health re

At least two-third of the population surveyed in 11 states were found to have developed coronavirus antibodies, according to the findings of a serosurvey by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) done between June 14 and July 6.
Madhya Pradesh leads the chart with 79 per cent seroprevalence while Kerala is at the bottom with 44.4 per cent. Seroprevalence in Assam is 50.3 per cent and Maharashtra 58 per cent.
The findings of the fourth round of national serosurvey conducted by the ICMR across 70 districts of India was shared by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

Kerala Lockdown: Complete weekend shutdown as Covid cases skyrocket
Kerala on Thursday has announced a total weekend lockdown across the state amid rising in coronavirus cases. The recent government order said that on July 31 and August 1, the state will witness a full lockdown.
Around 50 per cent of coronavirus cases are being reported from Kerala itself. On Wednesday, the number of fresh COVID-19 cases crossed 20,000 for the second successive day. While on Tuesday, 22,129 people had tested positive. The fresh infections increased the overall caseload to 33,27,301, while the fatality count mounted to 16,457.Â
The central government is sending a six-member team from the National Centre for Disease Control to the state.
