Rule applies to travellers from six States and Delhi
Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, the Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday announced that after April 16, people from Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will be required to show a negative RT-PCR test report, which is not older than 72 hours, before entering the State. Delhi and the six States have been reporting a high caseload.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who presided over a meeting with the senior officers here to review the COVID-19 situation, said as of now the government would continue to allow tourists to visit the State. Hotel owners and tourists should strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the State government, he said.

Convalescent plasma, extracted from recovered Covid-19 patients, has been a go-to treatment option in India, particularly in cases where patients need to be hospitalised. This is transfused with the intention of preventing the infection from severe progression. Plasma therapy is also indicated to prevent the cytokine storm, a stage of the infection where the body’s immune system starts attacking itself.
Delhi’s health minister Satyendar Jain has been an advocate of plasma donation and treatment, especially since it helped during his own brush with the disease.

A 33-year-old scientist from Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) became the latest victim of cyber fraud when she received a mail purported to be from ICMR s director demanding favours. As soon as the mail was received on Tuesday morning the complainant sent Rs 1.10 lakh in the form of gift cards as demanded by the fraudster. Hours later, the ICMR s director clarified on their WhatsApp group that itâs a fraud and not to fall for it. Following the complaint the Bhoiwada police registered an offence and began their investigation.

MUMBAI: Private hospitals in Mumbai can conduct rapid antigen tests (RATs) on walk-in serious patients having influenza-like symptoms, but the same can not be done on asymptomatic persons, the city civic body has said.
RAT, considered a quick and cheap way to discover coronavirus, detects the presence of viral proteins in a sample from the respiratory tract of a person.
