In an embarassing gaffe for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it became apparent on Tuesday that the saffron party s Punjab unit had ended up using the photo of a protesting farmer on one of its posters to gather support in favour of the farm laws.
Harpreet Singh, who is part of the farmers agitation against the three contentious farm laws passed recently by the Centre, was surprised to find himself making an appearence as the BJP s poster boy , especially when the entire farmers protest itself is directed against the saffron party-led central government.

Harpreet Singh, a farmer whose photograph was used by the Punjab BJP to drum up support in favour of farm laws, has actually been sitting among the protesting farmers on the Singhu border since the first week of December.
The poster that was used on Punjab BJP s Facebook page was removed after uproar.
Harpreet Singh said, “I was amused first, but then got angry. How can they be so insensitive?” He is engaged in media projects displaying the angst of the farmers, their inconvenience and their struggle. Photographs clicked by Harpreet that highlighted the protest have gone viral.

Institute makes arrangements to view the celestial wonder
Students and faculty members of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, had a tryst with the celestial bodies Jupiter and Saturn when they came closest after 400 years on Monday.
A telescope of the Astronomy Club of the institution set up on its terrace turned out to be the centre of attraction with everyone eagerly waiting for the sun to set and technical assistant Jitender adjusted the telescope in the right angle for institute director D.V.L.N. Somayajulu to watch the Saturn rings and the bright Jupiter’s four moons.
