IIT Roorkee launches a 3-year M Tech Program in VLSI for Industry Professionals

Share Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has launched a new program- M. Tech. in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) for Industry Professionals. It is an initiative of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and will commence online from the academic session 2021- 2022. It also comprises a Contact Program with faculty in Greater Noida Campus of IIT Roorkee in each semester. The contact program will also have access to labs with EDA and TCAD tools that the students can use.   “Microelectronics and VLSI industry is driving the digital revolution by providing the required resources. It employs a large number of trained engineers. Many of them aspire for higher education but are unable to pursue it full time. This course will fulfill the need of such professionals” said Prof. Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee

Student dies at IIT isolation hub, had tested -ve | India News

ROORKEE: A 29-year-old student died at a Covid-19 quarantine centre set up at the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-R) on Wednesday. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed. Prem Singh, a resident of Chandigarh, was an MTech student at the department of earthquake engineering. According to the reports, he was quarantined on April 11 as he had come in contact with other Covid-positive students of the institute. On Wednesday, the officials found him unconscious and was first rushed to the institute’s hospital, and later, to a local civil hospital where he was declared dead. According to Sonika Srivastava, IIT-Roorkee media cell incharge, “The student was not Covid-positive as his RT-PCR report was negative.”

IIT-Madras to host Industry conclave on Apr 17, 18 Chennai, Apr 15 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) will host an ‘Industry Conclave 2021’ on April 17 and 18 to promote Industry-Academic Collaboration and develop means to generate new ideas for constructive partnerships.
