Dr Umakant Dash
Vadodara/ Anand: Dr Umakant Dash has been appointed as director of country’s premier rural management institute – The Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA).
The appointment to the post has been made with effect from Monday. Dash has replaced professor Hitesh Bhatt, whose three years term as director, ended in November last. Bhatt was appointed as director of IRMA in December 2017.
Dash has more than 25years’ experience in teaching and research. Prior to joining IRMA, he served as head of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Madras and as adjunct professor at IIM Tiruchirappalli.
He specialises in the areas of macroeconomics and health economics. He holds a PhD in applied economics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay’s Monash Research Academy has collaborated with Michelin India Technology Centre in Pune for next-generation sustainable mobility research. With this partnership, several projects for the next five years will be envisaged for development in the Mobility space in India.
It will bring Michelin’s global Research and Development DNA and involve doctoral students (Ph.D.) from IIT Bombay - Monash Research Academy encompassing a wide range of themes such as advanced computational engineering, materials, simulation and manufacture, Infrastructure engineering, clean energy water, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and stem cell research.
This book focuses on the distinctive experiences and challenges of Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Asia, explains how innovations are essential to SMEs in succession, and provides valuable insights on how to make succession and innovation simultaneously successful.
