The inevitability of the birth of alternative development framework is inherent within the metabolism of the capital system. It is important to examine how the alternative development paradigm unfolds as a new epistemology out of resistance movements and other radical transformative initiatives like globalization and socio-economic system and institutions; which create and co-create unequal distribution of power and perpetuate discrimination and domination by humans over others as well as over nature. Prof Sunil Ray articulated his views on alternative development paradigm in a webinar jointly organized by Impact and Policy Research Institute (IMPRI), New Delhi and Centre for Development Communication and Studies (CDECS), Jaipur on November 12, 2020.

Scientists look at neutrinos (subatomic particles) for critical information about supernova explosions. While previous research identified three flavors of neutrinos, many researchers continued to simplify studies on the topic by studying vanilla while ignoring chocolate and strawberry.
By including all three flavors in the study, Northwestern researchers have developed a deeper knowledge of dying stars and begun to unravel existing hypotheses.

(Bloomberg) Glance, a mobile content platform from the founder of Indiaâs earliest unicorn, has reached a valuation of over $1 billion after completing a funding round that was led by Google, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
The stoppage of mining in Goa dealt a devastating blow to the livelihoods of people and has resulted in all-round gloom in the state economy and social life, according to a recent study. The mining in Goa came to a halt in 2018 after the Supreme Court quashed the renewal of 88 mining leases. A recent study on impacts of stoppage of mining in Goa on socio-economics carried out by Indian Institute of Technology-Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, said that the survey results clearly demonstrated a sense of all-round gloom in the state economy and social life. The closure of mining has dealt a devastating blow to the livelihoods of people which includes both in mining and non-mining areas.

Glance, which feeds news and sports scores to phone-lock screens, is said to have reached a valuation of more than $1 billion after completing a funding round led by Google. And VerSe Innovation Pvt, the studio behind the popular Dailyhunt news site and TikTok-like Josh app, said it passed that threshold after winning more than $100 million from Alphabet Inc.âs search giant and Microsoft Corp.
