Dec 10 (IANS): The Indian capital, Delhi s air pollution, has turned from low to severe over the course of the Diwali weekend due to the burning of crop stubbles in nearby states and people bursting crackers in violation of a Delhi state government ban.
While the festival of lights inevitably brings the problem of smoke and ash spewed by crackers, the bigger worry is that of farm fires a phenomenon that has been gradually choking the national capital even though the vehicle load has somewhat eased because of Covid.

IIT Guwahati researchers have developed a technique which can solve the water scarcity problem in India.
The researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati have developed an efficient and new method of harvesting water from humid air using novel materials. This new method of harvesting water can be the solution to the water crisis in several parts of our country.

A total of 821 offers were made to the graduating batch of 2020-21 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in the first phase. The campus placement started on December 1 and ended on December 9. The duration of phase-1 of placements for this year was lesser than last year. In 2019, the phase was for 13 days as opposed to 9 days this year, the IIT informed.
