New Delhi: Gold prices gained Rs 235 to Rs 49,675 per 10 gram in the national capital on the last trading day of 2020.
In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 49,440 per 10 gram. Silver also went up by Rs 273 to Rs 67,983 per kilogram from Rs 67,710 per kilogram in the previous trade.
The the yellow metal was enroute to register its best annual performance in 10 years. Spot gold was almost flat at $1,893.84 per ounce by 1000 GMT, but was up more than 24% for the year, its best since 2010. U.S. gold futures were up 0.3% to $1,898.70, a Reuters report said.

Asked how long would the IIM-A wait before going back to the restoration plan, D’Souza said, “We would wait and continue trying for at least two-three years. After which you have to admit the failure and take this as a last call. Though it would be a pathetic call to make.”
Curtis, in two letters to D’Souza, dated December 17 and December 20, which he shared with The Indian Express on Monday, suggested that “some or all of these dorms can serve other purposes in the life of the institution”.
Expressing “shock and dismay” over the plans to replace 18 dorms with new buildings, Kahn’s children wrote, “the buildings in question are the heart of our father’s universally acknowledged masterpiece at IIMA”. They also asked D’Souza to engage with them “at this critical time”.

It is with shock that the architectural community of the country and the alumni of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) awoke recently to the news of the planned destruction of the dormitory buildings at the iconic campus designed by Louis Kahn, one of the worldâs professed greats among architects of the past century.
