Imran refutes talk of Azad Kashmir province

TARAR KHAL: Rejecting the impression that the PTI government wanted to make Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) a province of Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed on Friday his party strongly believed in the UN Security Council resolutions which gave the people of Jammu and Kashmir the right to choose whether they wanted to accede to Pakistan or India.
“InshaAllah, I am confident that the sacrifices of Kashmiri people will not go in vain and the day is not far when a referendum in Kashmir will be held to give them the right to decide about their fate,” the Prime Minister said as he addressed an election rally here.

US Diplomat Blinken to visit India next week

By Reena BhardwajWashington [US], July 24 (ANI): US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will arrive in New Delhi late Tuesday, to discuss with Indian officials the agenda of expanding our security, defense cyber, and counterterrorism cooperation.
The State Department said on Friday, making it the top US diplomat s first visit to India, an important US ally in Asia.
Blinken will depart from Washington on Monday evening and will arrive in New Delhi late Tuesday. On Wednesday, the US top diplomat will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
Blinken to visit India next week
The administration of US President Joe Biden has announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit India next week.
The State Department said on Friday that Blinken will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The department said they will discuss a wide range of issues, including Indo-Pacific engagement, shared regional security interests, shared democratic values, and addressing the climate crisis, as well as the response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The officials are also expected to talk about a plan to hold the first in-person summit of leaders from Japan, the US, Australia and India, a grouping known as the Quad. The Biden administration sees the framework as an important to its efforts to counter China.

WASHINGTON, July 23 US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to India next week, the State Department said today, in the top US diplomat’s first visit to the world’s largest democracy and an important US ally in Asia.
Blinken will also visit Kuwait and meet senior officials there at the end of the July 26-29 trip.
