Indian National Award-winning actress and avid social media user Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was suspended on May 4 following her comments against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Earlier today, Ranaut who is a staunch supporter of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a series of tweets criticising Banerjee for the violence that took place in her state following the Assembly Election results on May 2. In her tweets, Ranaut demanded President’s rule in West Bengal after Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) won the recent assembly elections in the state. She also tweeted that no violence was reported in other Indian states such as Assam where BJP won.

Abdur Rahim Quasemi, a member of the group’s recently dissolved central committee and joint general secretary of its Brahmanbaria District Unit, was detained from Brahmanbaria town’s Bhadughar area on Tuesday afternoon.
Rois Uddin, an additional superintendent of police, said investigation revealed Rahim Quasemi’s involvement with the recent mayhem and violence in 2016 in the district.
During the deadly violence on Mar 26 and Mar 28, a group of madrasa students vandalised and torched private and government establishments, including railway and police stations, and land office, in Brahmanbaria.

NEW DELHI: India’s total COVID-19 caseload crossed 20 million and oxygen shortages exacerbated a devastating second wave on Monday, as the EU proposed new rules that could allow travellers who are fully vaccinated to enter the bloc.
Cases have soared by around eight million since the end of March, with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi under growing pressure to take decisive action to reverse the surge. As many as 318,066 new cases were reported in India on Monday and 2,721 deaths, with total cases reaching 20,237,781.
Scores died over the weekend in hospitals hit by shortages that have forced clinics in the capital New Delhi to send urgent appeals for help on social media.
