IRSDC had recently invited a Request for Proposal for leasing vacant land parcels for mixed-use development as part of the Chandigarh Railway Station redevelopment project.
Evincing keen interest, seven leading developers have participated in the first pre-bid meeting held for leasing four vacant land parcels for mixed-use development as part of the Chandigarh Railway Station redevelopment project.
The positive response came from from seven companies including Eldeco, Developer Group, Virtuous Retail South Asia, Kalpataru Power Transmission and Omaxe for the leasing out a total built-up area of 2,32,341 sqm.

On the lines of airports run by private players, the Indian Railways is considering private companies operating 90 train stations.
The move steered by the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) is expected to let private companies run and operate certain stations in a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
In a letter to all principal chief security commissioners of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and all zonal railways, the Railway Board sought their opinion on how the security infrastructure for the 90 stations should be set up, reports

Chandigarh [India], February 20 (ANI): Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Ltd. (IRSDC) has invited Request for Proposal (RFP) for leasing vacant land parcels for mixed-use development as part of the Chandigarh Railway Station redevelopment project on Saturday.
Accordingly, bids have been invited from interested entities for a mixed-use development of land parcels on a lease rights basis up to 99 years.
Bidders can bid for all four land parcels or can also bid for the individual land parcels, as per their choice. The pre-bid meeting will be held on March 21, 2021, and the deadline for bid submission is April 16, 2021.
