Southern Railway gets new commercial chief

Share Article Ravi Valluri took over as the principal chief commercial manager of Southern Railway on Monday.
Mr. Valluri, a 1987-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), succeeds R. Dhananjayalu, who has been posted as principal chief operations manager of South Central Railway.
Previous posting
He has served as the principal chief operations manager, North Central Railway, Allahabad.
Mr. Valluri has more than three decades of experience in various capacities in Operations, Commercial, Planning, Safety and General Administration wings of the eight zonal railways. He was awarded the prestigious COAS (Chief of Army Staff) commendation medal while working in MILRAIL (Military wing of Railways, an extension of Traffic Directorate of Ministry of Railways), according to an official release.

LG Manoj Sinha picks top IRTS officer Ranjan P Thakur for J&K industrial outreach
NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has picked top Indian Railway Traffic Service officer Ranjan Prakash Thakur to help him in the Union Territory”s industrial outreach.
Thakur has been appointed as “Principal Secretary to the Government, Industries and Commerce Department,” an order issued by the J-K government said on Thursday. Some weeks back, Sinha had asked the Union Home Ministry to help select highly-rated officers to assist him.
Sinha had last month announced a new industrial policy for Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at developing industries and bringing in big-time investments to the Union Territory in the next two years.
