As per initial reports, two people have been killed by the gas leak at IFFCO unit. The deceased have been identified as assistant manager BP Singh and deputy manager Abhinandan. Over 12 people are said to be injured in the IFFCO Phulpur plant gas leak incident.

IFFCO Plant Gas Leak: 2 Dead, 15 Ill In UP s Prayagraj

The employees who fell ill have been admitted to the hospital. A plant unit has been closed and the gas leakage has stopped now. The situation is under control, Prayagraj DM informed. Promoted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident and has instructed officials to carry out relief work expeditiously. He has further ordered to investigate the cause of the incident.

Image Source: IANS News Prayagraj : , Dec 23 (IANS) Two officers of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited died in Uttar Pradesh when ammonia gas leaked at the Phulpur-based IFFCO plant around midnight, at least 12 others had to be hospitalized. The deceased, include assistant manager, V.P. Singh, and deputy manager, Abhyanandan. The accident occured around Tuesday midnight. PRO Vishwajit Srivastava said that two officers succumbed in hospital during treatment after the gas leak accident. They were assistant manager (urea) and deputy manager (offsite). Condition of the dozen others at different hospitals is under observation.
