Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 41.15 points up at 14979.25 on Monday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Power, Ambuja Cements, APL Apollo Tubes, Astral Poly Technik, BASF India, Avenue Supermarts, Indiabulls Real Estate, Orchid Pharma, Orient Cement, Prabhat Dairy, Quick Heal Technologies and UltraTech Cement.
Overall, 32 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 18 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, GAIL, UPL , ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and NTPC were among top gainers, while UltraTech Cem., Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, Wipro and HDFC were trading in red.

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a positive note at 02:50PM (IST) on Monday. Shares of BEML (up 20.0 per cent), Saregama India (up 20.0 per cent), Subex (up 19.97 per cent), MEP (up 19.89 per cent) and Universal Cables (up 17.41 per cent) were among the top gainers. While MJCO (down 4.99 per cent), Gabriel India (down 4.95 per cent), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (down 4.84 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (down 4.17 per cent) and Brightcom Group (down 3.98 per cent) were the top losers in the index. The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.0 per cent up at 21144.45 around 02:50PM.

Realty firm Embassy Group on Thursday said it expects to complete the process of merger of its certain housing and commercial projects with the Indiabulls Real Estate by the end of this year.
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Wednesday approved the proposed merger of Embassy group firms NAM Estates Pvt Ltd and Embassy One Commercial Property Developments Pvt Ltd with Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd (IBREL).
