AHMEDABAD, India, May 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), today signed share purchase agreements for the acquisition of 100% interest in SB Energy India from SBG (80%) and Bharti Group (20%). SB Energy India has a total renewable portfolio of 4,954 MW spread across four states in India. The transaction marks the largest acquisition in the renewable energy sector in India. The transaction values SB Energy India at an enterprise valuation of approximately USD 3.5 billion.

Ahmedabad, May 19 : In one of the largest acquisition in the renewable energy sector in India, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is set to acquire 100 per cent interest in SB Energy India from SBG (80 per cent) and Bharti Group (20 per cent).
The transaction values SB Energy India at an enterprise valuation of approximately $3.5 billion.
The two sides on Wednesday signed share purchase agreements for the deal.
SB Energy India has a total renewable portfolio of 4,954 MW spread across four states in India.

Adani Green Energy on Wednesday posted a nearly 86 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 104 crore for the quarter ended March 2021, mainly due to higher revenues. The consolidated net profit of the company stood at Rs 56 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing. Total income of the company rose to Rs 1,082 crore in the quarter from Rs 719 crore in the year-ago period. For 2020-21, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 182 crore, as against a loss of Rs 68 crore in 2019-20. Total income of the firm in 2020-21 also rose to Rs 3,520 crore from Rs 2,629 crore earlier.
