Dima Hasao (Assam): The Centre and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a loan of USD 231 million for the construction of 120 megawatts (MW) run-of-the-river hydroelectric project over Assam s Kopili river. The hydropower project on the Kopili river and Umrong stream, its tributary, is located in Assam s Dima Hasao district. It is scheduled to be commissioned by the year 2025.

India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Friday (18 December) signed a $300 million loan agreement to upgrade rural power distribution networks to provide reliable electricity supply to consumers in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
The loan agreement was signed between Dr C S Mohapatra, additional secretary, Department of Economic Affairs and Takeo Konishi, country director of ADB s India Resident Mission.
After signing the loan agreement, Mohapatra said that upgrading the distribution network will help improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply, reduce the aggregate technical and commercial (ATC) losses and restore the financial sustainability of the rural electricity supply in UP.

New Delhi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Indian government on Friday signed a $300 million loan to upgrade rural power distribution networks to provide reliable electricity supply to consumers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The signatories to the tranche 1 loan for Uttar Pradesh Power Distribution Network Rehabilitation Project were Dr CS Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) in the Ministry of Finance and Mr Takeo Konishi, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission, according to a Finance Ministry statement.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and India on Friday signed a $4.21-million project readiness financing (PRF) facility for the preparation of infrastructure development projects to improve urban amenities and develop tourism infrastructure in Tripura. This is ADB’s first PRF facility for a State in the northeastern region.
The signatories to the PRF for Tripura Urban and Tourism Development Project were CS Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance who signed for the Indian government, and Takeo Konishi, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission who signed for ADB.
Mohapatra said the facility will support the Tripura government’s priorities of improving urban services and tourism infrastructure through holistic planning by developing key infrastructure investment projects and related reforms in these sectors that will help boost economic development.
