Ghent Workgroup expands presence in India

The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) has added the Regional Institute of Printing Technology in Kolkata, India, a regional level institute offering trans-formative and functional education in graphic communication and media technologies, as its new educational member. Established in July 1956, the Regional Institute of Printing Technology started its course curricula with equipment prevalent at that time. Since then, it has been attempting to keep pace with today’s technology and now offers full-time 3-year duration diploma programs in printing technology, multimedia technology and photography. All the programs are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development.

Against all odds, poor Indian girl cracks top banking exam

THE STANDARD ASIA Poor Indian girl Pallavi Sharma: She cracked J-K Bank Probationary Officer exam against all odds. [Courtesy] Pallavi Sharma, hailing from Jib village of Jammu and Kashmir s Udhampur district, belonging to an extremely poor family, cracked the J-K Bank Probationary Officer (PO) exam, the result for which was declared earlier this month, without any coaching and brought laurels to not only her family but the entire district. Ashu Sharma, Member, District Development Council  Tikri, Udhampur, said, Pallavi has qualified Bank PO exam without any coaching. She belongs to a very ordinary family. She has brought laurels to not only her family but also to the village. We thank her for bringing a good name to our village. She has shown the determination of realising her dreams. I would like to congratulate her for that.
