A Catholic priest and nun have been sentenced to life in prison for the killing of another member of their convent in India nearly 30 years ago.
Father Thomas Kottoor and Sister Sephy were convicted on Tuesday of murdering 21-year-old Sister Abhaya in 1992, and destroying evidence of the killing.
The pair killed her after she came across them engaged in illicit sexual activity.
Local police originally thought the young nun had taken her own life.
But further investigations were launched following suspicions about her death from family and campaigners.

Four men in India have been charged with the rape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit woman earlier this year in a case that sparked outrage across the country and internationally.
The woman was admitted to hospital in Delhi after an attack in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in September.
She later died of her injuries.
The handling of the investigation was widely criticised, with allegations that local police had deliberately mismanaged the case.
The case was later transferred to India s Central Bureau of Investigation.

Bengaluru, India (CNN)It was minutes into India s Independence Day when police stormed a slum in the western state of Gujarat where Hira Bajania, 65, was sleeping. In the black of night, he was dragged from his home, taken to a nearby police station and accused, with 11 other men, of stealing cell phones.
As dawn broke on a day commemorating India s freedom, one by one the men were taken from their cell to be interrogated for up to 30 minutes, according to a complaint subsequently filed to police, and seen by CNN. They were bound, stripped, beaten, abused and, according to two people in the group, tortured sexually and told to confess. Many returned to their cell limping, unable to stand or sit, say several of the men. All denied the charges.
