They are protesting the Government’s decision to privatise two PSBs
Banking operations could grind to a halt in public sector banks (PSBs), old generation private sector banks and regional rural banks across the country on March 15 and March 16.
About 10 lakh employees of these banks are expected to participate in a strike to protest the Government’s decision to privatise two PSBs.
The two-day strike has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), the umbrella body of nine bank unions.
With the conciliation meeting between bank unions and the Central government failing, about 10 lakh bank employees will strike work for two continuous days - March 15 and 16 - protesting against the government decision to privatise public .

In the run-up to the two-day bank strike on March 15-16, India s largest public sector bank SBI (State Bank of India) and Bank of Maharashtra have said that their services may be affected due to the strike.In view of this, customers have been advised to plan cash withdrawals and transfers well in advance.
