Al’s daughter, Sandra Noe, was herself suffering from COVID-19, which she contracted while caring for her sick parents, when the virus forced Al’s hospitalization. Noe, 66, is no stranger to helping elderly shut-ins weather isolation.

Volunteers needed for Earth Day cleanup at Indiana Dunes By: Maura Johnson PORTER COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Dunes National Park is looking for volunteers to participate in their first annual Earth Day cleanup event. Volunteers can now register to participate in the Indiana Dunes Trash Trekkers Earth Day Cleanup happening on Thursday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During the event, volunteers will collect trash and debris that gathered over the winter from beaches, roadsides, the Little Calumet River, and trails of Indiana Dunes Country. “Participating in the cleanup is a great way to take pride in your community, celebrate the spring, and enjoy your neighborhood National Park,” said Volunteer Program Manager Jim Whitenack.
