RICHMOND, Ind. The Richmond Community School Board met in special session Friday morning to appoint Kristen Brunton as the new District 3 board member.
Brunton will take the official oath of office the board s next meeting on June 16, and her term will expire Dec. 31, 2022. Brunton will replace board member Suzanne Derengowski, who announced her resignation on May 5 after 20 years of service.
“Education is a passion of mine,” Brunton said in a release. “To have the opportunity to be part of a board that makes policies that directly impact students is powerful. I bring a plethora of educational expertise to the board as well as a fresh perspective as a past teacher and current parent. It’s exciting to be able to give back to the RCS community in this capacity.”

CINCINNATI â When Charles Edwards got the opportunity to retire early, he could have moved to the beautiful South Carolina coast, where he lived as a boy, or the North Carolina Piedmont region, where he spent his high school years.
But he chose to remain in Indiana, where he moved begrudgingly with his family just before he started college.

INDIANAPOLIS In recent years, the amount of people choosing to make Indiana home has increased.
The Indiana Destination Development Corporation, IDDC, has launched a new campaign called Hoosiers By Choice in hopes of attracting even more people to make the move.
Indiana Fever legend Tamika Catchings is just one of the Hoosiers helping the IDDC and the Indiana Association of Realtors launch the campaign.
