Editorial: Indiana up to the NCAA challenge. No state better equipped to handle college tourneys
March Madness is no stranger to Indiana. Actually, college basketball s big dance feels quite at home in the Hoosier state.
The hoops sport, at every level, holds a significant spot in the state s heritage, and yet another niche is about to be added.
The high school game s Milan Miracle happened here in 1954, along with Oscar Robertson and the legendary Crispus Attucks state champs in 1955, and Damon Bailey s heroics in 1990. Hoosier colleges produced five NCAA titles by the Indiana Hoosiers, John Wooden s career at Purdue, Larry Bird and the Indiana State Sycamores amazing 33-1 NCAA finalist season, and Butler s back-to-back runner-up finishes. Among the pros, the Indiana Pacers won three ABA championships under Coach Bobby Slick Leonard, and an NBA Finals appearance in 2000 under Bird, the coach.
Tiffany Haddish Donates 100 Suitcases To Children in Foster Care By Emma Taggart on January 11, 2021
American actress, comedian, and author Tiffany Haddish is known for her unshakable candor and sense of humor. And although she’s a pro at making people laugh, her background is anything but a joke. As a young teenager, she spent several years in foster care, and struggled to find a place where she felt at home. One of the most difficult things about being a child in the system is constantly having to pack your things inside a trash bag. For Haddish, her experience improved when she began using proper luggage and started feeling more like a “traveler.” That’s why she’s donated 100 suitcases to kids in foster care, so they can feel like they’re on an adventure, too.

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTHI) - Over the weekend officers say a Farmersburg man was arrested on child molest allegations.
On Friday, police arrested Robbie Baber after an investigation began where the police and Indiana Department of Child Services were called to a home in Farmersburg last Monday. Police say this was regarding allegations of possible child molestation on a five-year-old.
Baber is now in Sullivan County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
“Our friends at @nwi have a great story about the amazing generosity of actress/comedian @TiffanyHaddish, who helped us spread holiday cheer to more than 400 children! We’ve said it before, but thank you so much, again, for your donation, @TiffanyHaddish!” they wrote.

Tiffany‘s childhood experience of using trash bags as suitcases inspired her generous donation.
“I’ve been in this agency for 18 years. I have been taking children out of homes and moving them to other homes, and when I see those garbage bags. It’s unfortunate that we still have to do that,”
Her first year on the job was not one Cecilia Harry could ever have envisioned.
She stepped into her role as chief economic development officer for the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC in December 2019. She and her family had moved from Wisconsin, where Harry had been president and CEO of Envision Greater Fond du Lac, the combined chamber of commerce and EDC for that community. She was eager to dive in, to shake hands with business and city leaders, to attend gatherings and visit key employers.
And then the pandemic took hold. I got my 90-day review in quarantine, she recalls.
