Franklin woman dies in I-70 crash near Mount Comfort Police said the woman drove her minivan into the back of a semi-trailer that was stopped in traffic just before midnight. A crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and another vehicle closed multiple lanes of Interstate 70 in Hancock County early Thursday morning. The crash, which resulted in one fatality, occurred on the eastbound side of the highway shortly before midnight, just west of Mount Comfort Road. According to the Hancock County Sheriff s Office, a minivan crashed into the back of the semi, killing the van s driver, Melissa Welch, 46, of Franklin, Indiana. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
