Heavy rains wash out Indiana highway
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Heavy rains have washed out a portion of a highway in the west central part of the state.
The Indiana Department of Transportation said Thursday that State Road 32 just west of the Montgomery/Fountain county line will remain closed until repairs can be made.
INDOT says Duke Energy reports a section of State Road 47 is temporarily closed in Montgomery County near the town of Waveland because of power lines and poles down on the roadway.
The National Weather Service, citing an amateur radio report, says 3.5 inches inches of rain fell in one hour in a Monroe County location.
