MERRILLVILLE, Ind., May 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) today announced, on a GAAP basis, net income available to common shareholders for the three months ended March 31, 2021 of $281.7 million, or $0.72 diluted earnings per share, compared to a net income available to common shareholders of $61.8 million, or $0.16 diluted earnings per share, for the same period of 2020.
NiSource also reported non-GAAP net operating earnings available to common shareholders of $304.8 million, or $0.77 diluted earnings per share, for the three months ended March 31, 2021, compared to non-GAAP net operating earnings available to common shareholders of $290.9 million, or $0.76 diluted earnings per share, for the same period of 2020. EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Board held a second public meeting about a proposed water rate hike Tuesday.
The increase would fund a nearly $178 million new water treatment plant.
Officials said over the next five years, theyâre proposing an increase to monthly water rates with the highest monthly rate increase no higher than $3.03.
Thatâs down from $3.47, which had been proposed.
Capital Dynamics and Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCo), part of NiSource, have signed an agreement to bring 200MW of solar energy to the US state.
The build-transfer agreement is for the Elliot Solar project, in Gibson County, which will begin construction in summer 2022 and begin commercial operations in summer 2023.
Capital Dynamics will construct the project, and NIPSCO will enter into a joint venture once construction is complete. We are proud to partner with Capital Dynamics on another solar energy project in our home state, said Mike Hooper, NIPSCo president. The addition of Elliot Solar to NIPSCo s portfolio is a major step in our transition to lower-cost, cleaner and reliable energy for our customers.

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission said that starting on Saturday, April 24, people calling 219 and 574 area codes are encouraged to use the full ten digit area code. This means that you d dial 219-555-5555, instead of just 555-5555.
If you don t, there s no problem for now. Your phone call will still go through.
But starting on October 24, your phone call will not go through without the full area code in front. You will get a recording telling you to hang up and start over.
