INDIANA AREA REPORTS TWO POSITIVE COVID CASES

INDIANA AREA REPORTS TWO POSITIVE COVID CASES By Todd Marino Feb 24, 2021 3:58 AM The Indiana Area School District says it has been notified of positive covid-19 tests for a student-teacher at the high school, and for a student-athlete on the boys’ basketball team. Superintendent Mike Vuckovich says that typically, both would be counted toward the rolling 14-day count, but because of Monday’s school cancellation, combined with the previous weekend’s cleaning and contact protocols, there are still no active cases that apply to the count. Vuckovich adds that because Indiana County is in the “moderate” phase, the district’s attestation does not apply to its case counts, and therefore the school can remain open.

NEW COVID CASES AT INDIANA AREA, HOMER CENTER

Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Jan 26, 2021 4:05 AM Just as the Indiana Area School District’s coronavirus situation appeared to be getting healthier, the district reported new case notifications yesterday. A student at the Senior High School has tested positive, and so has a staff member at the Junior High.  Those two cases will apply to the rolling 14-day count at each school building, but they are the only two cases on each building’s count. The high school student was at the school and contagious last Thursday and Friday.  Contact tracing established that other students were in class with the infected student, but were masked, distanced, and never within six feet of the student for more than fifteen 15 minutes.
