Westminster faculty members earn promotions, tenure

The Westminster College Board of Trustees approved faculty promotions and tenure at its recent February meeting.
Faculty members earning the rank of full professor are
Dr. Karen Resendes, biology, and
Dr. Pamela Richardson, mathematics. Promoted to associate professor was
Dr. Robert Badowski, business, who was along with
Dr. Kristen Amick, biology granted tenure.
Resendes, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2009, earned an undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and her Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry from Brown University. She performed post-doctoral research at the University of California, San Diego.

A Wexford man just finished walking 2,200 miles along the Appalachian Trail and he’s not finished.
Patrick Deivernois, 23, started the trek from Maine to Georgia in July. He finished it Feb. 13. But he’s set his sights on the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,600-mile journey from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington.

Gov. Tom Wolf is the CEO of Pennsylvania state government but his earnings, which he donates to charity, aren t the highest in the commonwealth s workforce.

Since Gov. Tom Wolf is the head of Pennsylvania state government, it’s logical to think he’d top the list of its highest earners but that is not the case.
In fact, the governor, who earned $195,457, ranked as having the 300th highest earnings among state government employees in 2020 (Wolf donates his pay to charity). He wasn’t even the highest earning elected official on the state government $100,000 Club roster.
