To one side, nurses were administering shots every minute or so at six dosing stations. That’s about 1,000 shots each day, seven days a week, since the makeshift clinic opened in mid-December. Some of those in line celebrated the vaccine as a promising development after a year of tough coping, away from evenings out for a meal or weekend fun at sports events.

The Indiana State Board of Education continued its discussion of a reworked school accountability system Wednesday with board members bringing suggestions ranging from a new, multi-tiered system to the implementation of individual school dashboard to publicly track and monitor academic progress. “We have a majority opportunity to build a trusted and transparent system with transparent data for our families, for our educators to use,” new Indiana Education Secretary Katie Jenner said Wednesday. The discussion follows more than six months of research and feedback collected to overhaul the state’s current system after students’ low performance on the state’s new ILEARN exam showed more than half of Indiana districts would have seen declining A-F accountability grades for the 2018-19 school year.

Those who haven’t yet can do so at OurShot.in.gov or by calling 211. Provided by Indiana University Health The Indiana Department of Health reported 502 additional confirmed deaths over the last week. That brings the state’s total to 8,613 confirmed deaths. The state also reported more than 37,500 new cases in the last week. Since moving to Stage 5 of its reopening plan on Sept. 26, the state has reported 446,286 positive cases and 5,223 confirmed deaths – 79.1 percent of the state’s total positive cases and 60.6 percent of deaths for the entire pandemic.
