Drink maker coming to state Associated Press COLUMBUS – A California-based company plans to build a $103 million plant in southern Indiana that will produce dairy and plant-based beverages and create more than 100 jobs. Ninth Avenue Foods announced Tuesday that the family owned company would build a 260,000-square-foot plant in Columbus that will become its first expansion outside of its home state. The company, which specializes in extended shelf-life dairy and dairy alternative products, said the project will become its Midwest headquarters and create more than 100 jobs by late 2024. The plant will produce dairy and plant-based beverages, helping give Ninth Avenue Foods a broader reach across the country, company officials said. The plant will have up to seven filling lines and also allow for the production of some products that do not require refrigeration.

Whitley County company expanding HQ

(Inside INdiana Business) Columbia City-based Sailrite Enterprises Inc. has announced plans to grow its footprint in northeast Indiana. The company, which provides fabric, tools, hardware and sewing supplies, plans to invest more than $3 million to expand its Whitley County headquarters and create up to 50 jobs by the end of 2024. The expansion will bring its headquarters to more than 100,000 square feet. The company says the addition will include professional office space and new packaging machinery and material handling equipment.  Sailrite provides supplies for the marine, home, outdoor living, RV and hobby markets. The company says the project will allow it to serve expanded markets in in the DIY sewing arena.
