German cos in India see profit in 2021: Survey © Provided by The Times of India Kolkata: German companies in India expect 2021 turns out to be a profitable year. This holds true despite the strong impact of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in India during the months of April and May. This was revealed by a joint study conducted by KPMG and the Indo German Chamber of Commerce. As per the study, two out of three responding companies (66%) expect an increasing turnover, every sixth company even sees growth of over 20%. Additionally, half of the companies (49%) also expect higher profit than in the previous year. In the medium-term, the German firms are even more optimistic. For the coming five years, 89% of respondents predict an increasing turnover and 71% expect a jump in profit, says the survey.

Wipro expects to access about 100,000 doses of Covid vaccine for employees

IT major Wipro on Wednesday said it expects to have access to about one lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines for its employees and their families, beginning early June. The Bengaluru-based company said it has partnered with top-tier hospitals and a tech-enabled online-to-offline delivery platform - which specialises in primary care and urgent response services - to provide COVID-19 vaccination support to its India-based employees. As part of this partnership, beginning early June, subject to availability, Wipro expects to have access to a total of 1,00,000 doses of three vaccines Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V as the first tranche for the exclusive use of our employees and their dependents (spouse and children), Wipro said in a statement.
