15 children treated under QRCS’s Little Hearts project in Indonesia

March 1st, 2021 ― Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society’s (QRCS) Little Hearts project is going on in Indonesia, in cooperation with the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health (MOH).
The $106,560 project is aimed at treating 40 children with congenital heart defects, including ventricular septal defects (VSD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).
It involves performing catheterizations at the National Cardiac Center Harapan Kita (NCCHK) in Jakarta. So far, 15 children ranging from one month to eight years of age have been operated on the heart.
Three groups of 16 specialized doctors and consultants are engaged in the project, covering the specialties of pediatric cardiology, diagnostic non-invasive cardiology, and anesthesia.

Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched a ‘Little Hearts’ project in Indonesia, with the aim of treating 40 children with congenital heart defects.
Hosted by the Harapan Kita National Heart Center in Jakarta, the $90,000 project is co-implemented by QRCS, the Indonesian Red Cross Society, and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health (MOH). The procedures are performed by local medical specialists in cardiac catheterization for children.
The launching ceremony was attended by Dr. Azhar Jaya, Health Service General-Director at MOH; Sudirman Said, Secretary General of the Indonesian Red Cross Society and Dr. Iwan Dakota, Director of the Harapan Kita National Heart Center, and the doctors involved in the project.
Indonesia plane crash: Boeing 737 vanishes over sea

A Boeing 737 passenger plane is believed to have crashed into the sea after disappearing from radar and plunging 10,000ft.
The Sriwijaya Air passenger jet lost contact after taking off from Indonesian capital Jakarta earlier today en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province.
It had more than 60 people on board - including 10 children.
Photos show rescue workers pulling debris from the water in a desperate search for survivors.
The Indonesia rescue agency confirmed suspected debris of the flight had been found.
No radio beacon signal had been detected, the agency said.
