Police allege an argument broke out between two men, aged 28 and 30, on Edith Street at Innisfail in the early hours of Saturday morning. Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said the 28-year-old man was punched repeatedly in the head until he was knocked to the ground. Emergency services attempted CPR but he could not be revived. Our investigations show that the offender appears intent on having an altercation of some sort with his victim, Detective Inspector Goan said.

Man charged with murder following attack on Edith Street, Innisfail in QLD

Alex Ollson (pictured), 28, was allegedly punched in the side of the head by Peniola Liu, 30 A man accused of punching a bystander multiple times on the side of the head at a taxi rank has been charged with murder. Alex Ollson, 28, was repeatedly hit by Peniola Liu, 30, while at a taxi rank on Edith Street, Innisfail, in Queensland, about 2.20am on Saturday.  The pair were involved in a verbal spat before it turned physical which saw Liu, a Tongan national, allegedly attack the father-of-two.  Emergency services rushed to the scene and performed CPR on Mr Ollson but he could not be saved after succumbing to his injuries.
