Community connections librarian Saniya Thompson has teamed up with regular library user, and passionate rugby follower, Neil McDermott to put on the event. Thompson expected the Rutledge tribute evening would pull in people that had never been to the library before and hoped they might then get a better understanding of what is on offer at the library. “Books are still very much what the library is known for, but it is not limited to books,” Thompson said. She said it was good to be able to work with an organisation like Rugby Southland to put on a unique event at the library.
